Our beautiful iconic building is a unique and place for you to gather, learn and present. Square Edge Arts Centre consist of the original Council Chambers (with stunning 19th century design features) and the art-deco addition that was built in 1947. The spaces are filled with artists’ studios, a cafe, galleries, a book shop and spaces you can book for your workshop or event.
We offer subsidized rental options for artists, community groups and not-for-profit organisations. Talk to us if you’d like to know more about our event hosting services.

EVELYN RAWLINS ROOM
Suitable for:
The Evelyn Rawlins Room is the original City Council Chamber. This is a stunning and elegant space with beautiful decor, natural light and brilliant acoustics.
Great for workshops, orchestra rehearsals, piano concerts and yoga.
This space is not available for parties.

THE LOFT
Suitable for:
Widely regarded as the best dance rehearsal space in the city, the rehearsal studio is a beautiful space to practice, teach, run classes and rehearsals, performing arts, or do a workshop.
Included in the hire of the place is access to a small sound system.
NOTE: We are no longer able to hire the Dance studio out for events/parties

The FX theatre is a small intimate space perfect to host film screenings, workshops, seminars, live performances, meetings, and rehearsals.
