Kaydee is an analyst, historian and Palmerston North City Councillor whose involvement with the arts spans many years and disciplines. Hailing from a creative family, Kaydee spent her childhood in creative spaces waiting for her parents to finish work, and consequently developed passions for art, music, theatre and the written word. While studying Maori and history at Victoria University, Kaydee worked at Te Papa Tongarewa, the National Museum of New Zealand, immersed among some of our nation’s greatest taonga toi. As an adult Kaydee still practices multiple instruments, writes for the Manawatu Standard ‘Back Issues’ series, and is actively involved with Act Three Productions’ musical theatre offerings. She is particularly enjoying nurturing the artistic talents of her children, and being able to support local artists in their work though her role as a Board Member of Square Edge, and as a City Councillor.
