Artistic fragments of a childhood filled with trauma and frequent sexual abuse are on display at Square Edge in a bid to encourage others to ask for help.

Catherine Daniels’ experiences were channelled into 49 sculptures and a book, that she hopes will resonate with people and foster conversation.

Māori artists are sharing stories of family and the Treaty of Waitangi in a Palmerston North exhibition.

Tono is on display in Square Edge Community Arts and invites people to be part of the conversation about the treaty and its prejudices.

It’s 128 years since the original building on its site at the southern corner of The Square, Palmerston North, opened. It’s 75 years since the current building opened, 40 years since it opened as an arts centre and 16 years since it came under the Palmerston North Community Arts Council’s management.
