Toi Warbrick
2nd october - 29th november
tuitui Gallery – SQUARE EDGE ARTS CENTRE
Due to the awesomeness of Papers Past (National Library of New Zealand) we can read the detailed account of Charles Kettle which was first published in a Wellington newspaper in 1842. He describes his journey up the Manawatū Awa, through Te Āpiti and beyond. We’ve collated his account and created works mentioned by Kettle.
Thanks to Square Edge Community Arts for encouraging us to present this mahi as ‘Kettle Retold’. On show until 29 November. But wait, there’s more. Join us at Square Edge for one or both of the following:
Sun 19 Oct, 1.00-4.00pm
Taura: Drop-in workshop
Help make a taura/rope from harakeke in the Kettle Retold exhibition. Once completed, the taura will stay with the gallery.
[Free to participate, no registration required]

Papers Past Workshop with Toi Warbrick

We have been using Papers Past for years and will be running a free workshop on tips and tricks when using the Papers Past website. We will include insights on how old newspaper articles can inspire new projects.
