Workshop 1: A Taste of Ink – Playful Marks & First Impressions.

This is a fun and exploratory introduction to Intaglio printmaking where you get to experience the basics of printmaking, tools, inking, and pulling a first small print through a pasta maker.

Workshop 2: Scratches, Scribbles and First Prints.

Experiment with different kinds of mark making by creating your first Intaglio drypoint – no masterpieces expected! Experience the different print effects of mark making from different plates.

Workshop 3: Tone, Texture & Happy Accidents.

Embrace a non-perfectionistic creative response to unexpected results by thinking creatively around accidents. Explore tonal depth, building texture, and layer your image.

Workshop 4: Images with Attitude.

We adopt a simple non-perfectionistic approach to the secrets of punchy images by translating loose marks into expressive images, trusting simple imagery and making creative decisions.

Workshop 5: Printing Party and Mini Edition.

This is the celebratory moment of your playful printmaking series where you get to make a small edition. We cover edition printing basics such as consistent printing, signing and numbering prints, maker’s marks, reflection and next steps.

A Playful Printmaking Workshop Using Pasta Makers.

A relaxed, five-part intaglio printmaking workshop series.

No experience required, just curiosity. Designed to build confidence and finish with a small edition of expressive prints.
