In publishing the Manawatū Journal of History Russell Poole and his fellow authors aim to create and share stories about our region’s past. The process starts with research into numerous sources, including the memories of local people. The results of the research are pieced together to create an interesting and memorable story. Each issue of the Journal features stories by a variety of authors in our community, creating a diversity of voices. By engaging in this creative process, the authors seek to add to our community’s sense of place and identity.
