In 2020 Square Edge Arts Centre celebrated 40 years of colour, energy, creativity and community.

Many special people both past and present participated. These included Square Edge/ Community Arts staff, tenants, exhibiting artists, performers, user groups, board members, visitors, and PNCC staff who supported this weekend in so many ways. Our Mayor and Mayoress Grant and Michelle Smith and 8 PNCC councillors attended the gala event opening. One of tenants, Cafe Royale provided stunning food over the weekend and Chrissy Ferguson from E.A.T supplied two delicious birthday cakes. Tenants opened their studios, provided free classes and sessions and ran workshops, making our weekend so vibrant and interesting. An stunning exhibition of artworks showcased the work of our tenants and shop artists. We enjoyed the many wonderful memories and reflections shared over the weekend, appreciated the korero, and acknowledge the challenge to keep moving outward and serving our community. We look forward to continuing the Square Edge Community Arts legacy for another 40 years!
