Sorawit Songsataya is a New Zealand artist of Thai origin who is based in Pōneke Wellington. He is specialised in digital moving-image, 3D animation, and multi-media installation. Often his works are presented in an installed environment and tackle on topics concerning our human relation with the natural world. During his time as a Visiting Artist with Square Edge and Massey Manawatū, Sorawit has been researching the cabbage tree and developing a new 3D model and animation of the tree. He is also organising a free outdoor short-films screening with the city council, presented in The Square on Sunday October 4 2020.
